About Lenore

Lenore joined Wilson Nesbitt in 1991 and is head of the Family & Private Wealth Team at Wilson Nesbitt which comprises partners, solicitors, trainee solicitors, managers and legal executives each of whom specialise in various areas.  Lenore and her team can tailor their expertise to meet clients individual needs ensuring clients are supported by a solicitor led team with the correct approach and skills to suit the client’s needs. 

Our specialist Divorce lawyers manage all aspects of divorce and family law such as prenuptial planning, in dispute resolution including financial settlements both business related and private, particularly those with hidden assets, high net worth and or intricate corporate structures, complex legal issues, freezing orders, trusts and those with jurisdictional disputes.  The team covers separation, divorce, domestic violence & name change, in children’s issues such as protection, custody, access, grandparents rights, care proceedings and adoption and immigration matters.  Lenore has particular expertise on aspects of Tax and trusts and also Pension law.  Lenore advises on pension’s aspects of a financial dispute resolution alternative in divorce undertaking detailed consideration of the pension history including any public sector transfers, private sector transfers and accrued rights and specialist pension actuary reports to ensure full pension funds are available for sharing and proper benefit aggregation complete. 

The Family law team helps clients structure their affairs in the way they want.  The  team will work alongside client’s existing professionals to include accountants and  financial advisors to ensure the client’s receives wealth and succession planning expertise.  Our team’s advices extend to tax planning and returns to include Inheritance tax, Capital Gains tax and Income tax.  Lenore applies expertise in complex cases considering the interaction between pensions, IHT and pensions freedom legislation and advices extend on the potential to use the pension to pass on wealth through generations in a tax efficient manner.  Our experienced team will support clients with care and empathy through the various steps of making wills and trusts, challenging a will, estate administration, gifting, office of care and protection, controllerships and enduring powers of attorney matters.  We also frequently act as professional attorneys, controllers, trustees and executors.

The Family and Private Wealth team continues to grow from strength to strength.  The team prides itself on its professionalism, integrity and discretion resulting in  many clients seeking our advices province wide.

Lenore also has a keen interest in matters involving Information and privacy law and advises clients on compliance with Data Protection to include subject access requests, social media use and security breaches.  Lenore has provided  information law compliance training to 40 local businesses with a particular focus on social media use and General Data Protection regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018 as well as undertaking significant work in the area of policy and procedure for the firm.

In her free time Lenore is a keen member of Bangor Netball Club and has served as a director on the board of Netball Northern Ireland heading the Participation Committee.  Lenore also enjoys going to the gym early each morning and spending time with her family.
